Are you using this time to focus
on your dreams + goals?
“It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old,
they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams.”
-Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Are you using this time to focus on your dreams + goals? The time to reflect on and pursue our goals is NOW.
The world is in flux.
Industries are shifting.
Companies are scrambling. The world has been turned on its head by COVID-19, and we are all wondering what will happen next. We are all facing uncertainty.
To combat the uncertainty we feel, I find it’s the absolute best time to focus on our personal goals and… (may I say it, our dreams).
I’m Leila, and MY PERSONAL MISSION IS TO HELP PEOPLE LIKE YOU TO take action on YOUR GOALS WITH UNSHAKEABLE CONFIDENCE.
Many of my clients tell me that during this time of “sheltering in place”, they’ve realized they’ve gotten caught up in the cultural demands they are surrounded in. They’ve worn “hustle” like a badge of honor.
Together, we’ve reflected on their goals, what impact they want to make, and what they want to accomplish next… without burning out.
Sometimes it can be easy to forget our personal goals, unless they are obviously aligned with our career progression.
And even when they do track along with career, we can get caught up in the ‘busy doing of it all’ and lose sight of the bigger vision of why we wanted that in the first place. Digging into the reason we wanted those goals we started with can be a powerful exercise.

Many of us are hanging out in limbo… feeling unmotivated and unfocused, and wondering when things will return to ‘normal’.
My firm belief is that they’ll never go back to ‘normal’ again.
The world has changed, and sitting at home waiting to pick up where you left off before COVID-19 is setting you up for a harsh wake up call.
This is the best time to reflect on and TAKE ACTION ON your goals and dreams.
What did YOU want to accomplish… before you got talked out of it, perhaps?
As we get older, we learn to turn down the volume on the experiences and accomplishments we want to have in our lives.
May I ask you a tough question?
How’s that working out for you? Are you fulfilled? Have you yet made the impact that you feel needs to be made?
If not, turn your gaze inward and ask yourself what’s truly important to you.
I INVITE YOU TO DREAM. TO REVISIT THOSE THINGS THAT ONCE FUELED YOU, AND MADE YOUR EYES LIGHT UP AND SPARKLE WHEN YOU TALKED ABOUT IT.
Imagine 3 years have passed, and you’re telling a story over dinner with friends. In this story, you’d be sharing the amazing experience you enjoyed, the award you won, or the problem you solved, and the highlights of that experience.
What are YOUR dreams and goals? (Or one of your goals?)
Your dream may be a global impact you want to create. But it also may be seemingly ‘smaller’ —perhaps creating a life where you find ‘balance’. Maybe you want to experience adventure more regularly.
Your dream may be to take on a CEO role, or join a board of directors. Or it may be to leave your CEO role and take action on the next chapter you have in mind.
Once you identify your dream, you have the potential to pursue it. Here are 3 Simple Steps to getting clarity on your goals.
IDENTIFY A DREAM OR GOAL, AND SAY IT OUT LOUD.
You have to pick a destination to know where to drive.
I help ambitious people to reconnect to their dreams, and craft an action plan to reach their goals, so they can feel alive, fulfilled, and make an income while making an impact.
If you’ve forgotten what your dreams once were, below are a few reflection prompts that may help you. One of these may speak to you stronger than the others.
**If my family’s income was not threatened, and we were safe, what would I love to work on or spend time doing?
What dream have I had over and over that excites me and fills me with possibility?
To what idea am I saying, “Who am I to do this. How could I make this difference?”
What dream do you hide because it feels too unrealistic, too selfish, or too impossible? **
What is your big goal? Now is the time to move toward achieving it. The world is shifting, companies are evolving, and their priority isn’t YOU.
2. STEP INTO THE ROLE OF DIRECTOR, AND DECIDE TO take action.
You must step into the role of Director for your story. Where will you go from here?
If you don’t change anything, you have a default future waiting for you 3 years from now.
Are you satisfied with that default future? (And it’s not the same future you have now —that global ship has sailed.)
As a coach, I work with those who want MORE than ‘default’. They’re ready to act on their goals and they want insights, support and someone to speak truth to them as they do it.
“When you cease to dream, you cease to live.”
-Malcolm Forbes
Perhaps you’ve now remembered your personal goals, and you’re nodding your head, excited to think about them again.
Now it’s time to take action. Even small steps create momentum, and clarity often comes from taking action.
Action trumps perfection.
3. Partner with someone who can offer perspective, ideas and support to you as you take action.
You have two choices … go at it alone, or enlist a partner in your success. Maybe you’ve heard of coaching, but never considered it for yourself? Let me share a few key facts about how working with a coach can help you reach your goals. According to Forbes, working with a coach will help you to:
See yourself and others more clearly. Accurate self-awareness in leaders is highly correlated with organizational effectiveness and profitability. For example, it can be difficult to recognize the uniqueness and value of your existing strengths. Most of us think of our gifts, “Doesn’t everybody do that?” A coach can draw your attention to what you do well and how to capitalize on that.
Question assumptions you make that may hold you back and lengthen the time it takes you to reach your goals.
Shift your mindset and learn new ways to respond. Ever heard of ‘seeing the forest for the trees’? It’s hard to adopt a results-oriented mindset when you know it’s missing, but aren’t sure how to change it effectively.
Have a powerful partner in your success. Working with a neutral, 3rd party coach can help you to see blind spots, have a dedicated space to be creative about your future, and be one of the few people (especially as your success grows) that will speak their truth to you.
Bring to mind the goal you identified a moment ago.
Now is the time to pursue it. This is your chance to address the uncertainty we face right now by focusing on moving yourself forward.
Are you ready to pursue your goals with support, intention and key insights that change your perspective?
I invite you to have a conversation with me about working together. You may find that your goals are much closer than you imagined.
I’d love to have a conversation with you. To connect, get on my calendar here and we’ll spend a few minutes saying hello, talking about your goals, and exploring if I can help you.
Note: This is not a sales conversation; it’s simply for me to learn more about where you’re headed. (And I’m told it’s very helpful to talk it out as well!)
To your success!
